The 1600 series of instruments (pictured in front) are for budget conscious consumers. All resonator boxes are solid pine with flexible pins, have multiple resonance chambers for rich sound quality and fabric-coated tubing under the bars for lasting durability. The 1600 series BX has the same range as the 2000 series (pictured in back); however, the bars are not as wide so the instrument is smaller.
