St. Louis AOSA is celebrating our 40th birthday this year! On April 26, 1970, St. Louis AOSA became the 6th chapter to join the American Orff-Schulwerk Association. Today, there are more than 90 chapters in the US.
To celebrate our 40th birthday, the board has several special events planned. Past president, Amy Gregory, is organizing a birthday celebration during our chapter meeting on April 17, 2010: “Come and join fellow chapter members, retired members, and past presidents in celebrating the 40th year of our St. Louis AOSA chapter! Birthday cake will be served at the morning break!”
We are also excited to have AOSA celebrate our 40th birthday with the St. Louis Cardinals during the summer of 2010 (see below).
If you have other 40th birthday celebration ideas, please send an e-mail to president[at]stlaosa[dot]org.
St. Louis AOSA and the St. Louis Cardinals!
To celebrate our 40th birthday, the St. Louis AOSA will perform the National Anthem for a Cardinals game during the summer of 2010. We are hoping to have at least 100 music teachers singing the National Anthem for this special event. St. Louis AOSA members will be able to purchase tickets for this game at significantly reduced prices. All proceeds from the sale of the tickets will assist St. Louis AOSA in hosting the 2012 National Conference. Look for more information about this special event in January of 2010!
